21-Year Old Quarter Horse Mare

History:  21-year-old QH mare kept in a self-care boarding facility and used as a trail-riding horse and back yard pleasure animal.  The owner is impeccable about the care and feeding for her horse.  This mare had demonstrated intermittent bouts of “loose-stool” and diarrhea.  She was slightly under weight for her size, did not appear to have the hair coat and “bloom” the owner expected and had become a “hard-keeper” in the owner’s eyes.  A clinical work up and professional intervention were requested.  Over a period of about a year, all the standard tests were run.  Dental care was performed, the feeding program was changed and various supplementations were added, all to no avail.

Treatment:  ReStore™ was added to the mares diet.  (It took about 3 weeks to get her to eat the calculated dose.)

Clinical Results:  Within 6 weeks the stool had returned to normal and for the past 13 months it has remained normal.  The mare gained weight and produced a hair coat that was better than it had been in years.  The owner feels that this mare has more energy and appears to be more “content.”
