12-Year Old Standardbred Broodmare

History:  12-year-old SB broodmare.  This mare had demonstrated several clinical signs of colic and had to be treated medically at least 4-6 times a year (lived in Nebraska and Georgia during this time).  Owner elected not to breed mare for past 4 years due to her repeated severe episodes of colic.  Two practicing veterinarians and the College of Veterinary Medicine performed clinical work-ups.  None of these work-ups could diagnose the etiology of the problem.  Medical intervention and nutritional changes failed to control the episodes for any significant period of time.

Treatment:  ReStore™ was recommended and supplementation was initiated.

Clinical Results:  For 18 months the mare only demonstrated 2 mild digestive upsets, of which both were treated medically with analgesics and mineral oil.
